Cairo’s traffic is famous, and a chauffeur who knows the roads makes the difference between a calm first hour and a long, confusing one. Whether you’re staying beside the Pyramids, in a Nile-view hotel in Zamalek or at a business hotel in New Cairo, every Cairo airport transfer we provide includes the same standard: a licensed chauffeur, a clean, air-conditioned vehicle, and a price confirmed in writing before you travel.

Cairo Airport Transfer: What to Expect at CAI

Cairo International Airport is in the northeast of the city, beyond Heliopolis. It has three main passenger terminals, and they’re far enough apart that a shuttle bus runs between them. Tell us your airline and flight number when you book, and your chauffeur will wait at the right terminal.

Skip the taxi negotiation. Taxi drivers often wait outside arrivals and agree fares at the curb, and meters are often not used for airport trips. With a pre-booked Cairo airport transfer, your chauffeur meets you inside the arrivals hall with a name board, and your fixed price, including tolls, is confirmed before you fly.

Delays are covered. Visa, passport control and baggage can take a while at busy times. We track your flight and adjust your pickup to when you actually reach arrivals, with no extra charge for delays.

Flying into Sphinx Airport? Some flights use Sphinx International Airport (SPX), on the Cairo–Alexandria Desert Road west of the city. It’s much closer to Giza and the Pyramids. Check which airport is on your ticket and tell us when you book.

Check flight information on the official Cairo International Airport website before you travel.

Approximate travel times from Cairo International Airport. Cairo traffic varies a lot, and it’s usually heaviest between 3 pm and 7 pm.

CAI to New Cairo (Fifth Settlement) — about 15 to 25 km, around 20 to 50 minutes.

CAI to Heliopolis — around 15 to 25 minutes.

CAI to Downtown, Tahrir Square and Garden City — about 22 km, around 45 to 60 minutes.

CAI to Zamalek — around 45 to 60 minutes.

CAI to the Grand Egyptian Museum — about 35 km, around 35 to 60 minutes.

CAI to the Giza Pyramids — about 35 to 45 km, around 60 to 90 minutes.

CAI to 6th of October City — about 60 km, around 75 to 100 minutes.

Every Cairo airport transfer is quoted as a fixed price for the route and vehicle, including tolls, so traffic never changes what you pay.

The Pyramids, the Sphinx and the Grand Egyptian Museum

The Giza Pyramids and the Grand Egyptian Museum are on the opposite side of Cairo from the main airport, and the drive crosses some of the city’s busiest roads. Many visitors now go straight from the airport to a Pyramids-view hotel in Giza.

We plan these trips at quieter times of day where possible. With hourly hire, your chauffeur waits nearby while you visit the Pyramids, the Sphinx and the museum, so you don’t need to arrange a new taxi for each stop.

Intercity Transfers from Cairo

We run private, fixed-rate transfers from Cairo to:

Alexandria — about 220 km, around 3 hours.

Ain Sokhna — around 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours.

El Gouna and Hurghada on the Red Sea — around 5 to 6 hours.

Longer journeys include rest stops, and the price is confirmed before you travel.

Hourly Chauffeur Hire in Cairo

Hourly hire keeps the vehicle and chauffeur with you for as long as you need them. It suits business days across Downtown, Garden City and New Cairo, and sightseeing at the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir, Khan el-Khalili, the Citadel, Coptic Cairo and a Nile dinner cruise.

Your belongings stay in the car, your chauffeur waits nearby, and you move when you’re ready. A minimum booking period applies, and we confirm the full price when we quote.

Private Aviation Transfers in Cairo

Private aircraft at Cairo International Airport use the Business Jet Terminal, beside Hall 4, where operators such as Smart Aviation and Aviary handle private flights with on-site customs and immigration.

We provide transfers between the business jet terminal and your hotel, office or residence, timed to your aircraft rather than an arrivals board. When you book, share your aircraft tail number and estimated arrival or departure time, and we will adjust the pickup if your schedule changes. Our vehicles are unmarked, and our chauffeurs never discuss the journeys they carry out.

Black Drive is an independent chauffeur service and is not affiliated with Cairo International Airport or any of the operators listed above.
